Face Value (2005)

This was painted for the Royal College of Art's Secret postcard show in 2005, where each work of art is priced at £35, and bought with the artist being anonymous. There is a long history of trompe l'oeil painted money, a popular motif in American pictures of the nineteenth century in particular.
