Panoramic Photographs

About the photographs...

These panoramic photographs were created in camera, using a No.2 Brownie on 120 roll film; the prints were simply contacted. As the Brownie has no stop on the winding mechanism, by trial and error, I calculated how far to wind the film on to overlap the negatives. Similarly, I had to calculate the angle of view of the camera, and from that calculated how far to rotate it to get a panorama. The imperfections of the camera, most notably the falling-off of the exposures, adds to aesthetic quality of the images.

Seven of the photographs were shown in the exhibition Displacements at the Void Gallery in December 2000
